About
My Policy Interest and Personal Intro
In Fall of my Sophomore year at UCLA, the Teaching Assistants went on strike. They were asking for a new contract, one with higher pay and better protections from abuse. I walked the picket line, handed out pamphlets, and attended their speeches. I learned that year the power of the labor movement, and grew a desire to help these organizations help workers. Through my Masters program at Carnegie Mellon, I hope to gain the skills necessary to fulfill this desire.
At UCLA , I spent my time as a member the Solid Gold Sound of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band, even being promoted to Drum Major my senior year. I also worked for UCLA Recreation as Student Coordinator for Aquatics, where I led lifeguard trainings, managed the staff, and created the schedules for our lifeguard team.
I took many classes in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and have learned both major softwares in that field, QGIS and ARCGISPro. Examples of this work can be found in the GIS Projects tab.
